Spring Time!

It's April and more than technically spring.  It's been a strange year for weather as it always is.  It's April but temperatures are still somewhat cool some days.  Nevertheless, I have planted my crops for the year.  This year my variety of container plants include: eggplant, jalapeno, some yellow santa fe pepper, thai basil, sweet basil, okra, red bell pepper, and yellow bell pepper.  And how could I forget: tomatoes.  Let's see how we do this season!

Birthdey

Not long after JD's bday was my bday.  I have officially turned 33!  I got a few surprises sent to me on my birthday.  See the delicious Edible Arrangements sent from Kim and the beautiful hydrangea plant sent to me from GG!  Both helped make my day all the more better!  Thanks ladies!

Jalapenos

Like I said before, my jalapenos are growing like crazy.  Here is a pic of the first crop of jalapenos.  I've picked a second batch since this picture was taken.  Today (6/10/12), I even made some jalapeno cornbread!

Seeds Update - Green Beans

The snow peas are looking OK.  The green beans are looking very good!  Jalapenos are slow thus far.

Seeds Update - Beans

I moved my baby plants from the seed starters to their permanent home in a pot.  They're getting big but are still adjusting to the pots.

I also planted a ton of jalapeƱo plants and am working on the mini herb pot.  Pictures to come.

It's Seeding Time!

An unusually warm winter has got my seeding itch started! I went ahead and gave myself a present: the Burpee seed starting set! It consists of 2 separate containers. I am using one for herbs/vegetable seeds and the other for flower seeds I collected from last season's flowers.

Here they are planted and and after one week of growth. Hopefully, this year's crop will be much better than last year's!
